A couple of ground rules will help us build and maintain constructive discussions.

    Participate

Rich conversations happen when site visitors become participants. If you don’t know where to begin, learn about the rules that guide forum discussions. Then, select a topic that interests you on the HIA Topics page and read more about it. To find your discussion topic in the forum, use the search bar to filter for it.

    Read discussion threads

Before posting, read how others have covered your topic. This will help inform your participation and avoid repeating what others have said.

    Be courteous

Your post will be deleted if it contains profanity or personal attacks. Criticisms must be constructive and articulate.

    Stay on topic

Be direct to avoid losing your readers. Be brief when possible.

    Identify your post with tags

Help the next participant find topics by tagging your post with Topic Tags (e.g. land use, .

    Trim your follow-ups

Quote only the text that you want. A good rule of thumb is, don’t include more quoted text than new text.

So, if I wanted to say “Hi” I’d do it like this. I can’t insert/edit an image here—
