The Health Impact Assessment (HIA) will analyze the potential impact of the California High-Speed Rail System on 3 proposed stations areas: Bakersfield, Fresno and Hanford/Visalia.

Share your thoughts on any of these station areas or cities on the community Forums. Look for local events and information near you on the Calendar and Resources pages.

The City of Bakersfield’s High-Speed Rail (HSR) Station will be located in downtown Bakersfield. There are two proposed station platforms. Option 1 is near the Garces Memorial Circle on Golden State Avenue. Option 2 is adjacent to the Amtrak station. A Station Area Plan is currently in development and will assist the city in achieving health-related goals such as: connecting existing community destinations, creating reliable multi-model transportation, supporting commerce and residential development, and enhancing livability.
Hosting the first HSR station, the City of Fresno selected 1713 Tulare Street in its downtown area for the station. The Station Area Master Plan aims to address access and mobility options for residents throughout the city, redevelop the downtown area and ensure investments are shared evenly by neighborhoods on both sides of the HSR alignment.
The station will be near the intersection of Highways 98 and 43 and a destination on an existing rail corridor, the Cross Valley Corridor.
